Academic Discourses (Level 4)

This is a specialist english language course for students wishing to study at post graduate level or study towards specialist language tests ie OET or IELTS. For over 20 years TII has offered this programme to 100's of international qualified nurses and advanced students helping them to prepare for the Occupational Test of English (OET) or towards their IELTS test. Highly practical and applied, our skilled and experienced tutors help students, who are close to meeting the required language levels to focus on key skills as the develop comprehensive language skills and / or prepare for academic study.

The programme also covers aspects of Maori culture, the regulatory framework and requirements for professional practice.

Duration:26-week programme (includes a 2-week holiday break)

Entry Criteria: IELTS 5.5 in all bands or equivalent. Prior study overseas at degree level or equivalent.

Career Progression: Students who complete this course often go on to sit the OET or IELTS test exams and then onwards to higher level study via a Competency Assessment Programme (Nurses) or Post Graduate Study (ECE).
