Stewart Brougham
Principal
Stewart Brougham is the Principal at TII Christchurch Campus. Stewart is well known in the international education sector in New Zealand, having held senior positions within the polytechnic and private sectors, as Principal, International Director and Business Development Director. Stewart has been involved in tertiary education for over 25 years as a lecturer (12 years), Head of Department and Director and served on a number of Executive teams. His areas of interest include International Education, Programme Development, Quality Assurance and teaching pedagogy for the 21st Century.
Stewart is responsible for all academic matters at TII and for leading key Programme Development activities.
Stewart holds qualifications from a number of universities across a range of disciplines including executive leadership (INSEAD, Singapore) and innovation management (Stanford, California). Stewart has served on various regional and national boards including as Chair of Christchurch Educated, has supported degree validation events for OUVS, Stirling University and served on the Scottish Qualifications Authority Lana Based, Advisory Board. Stewart is also an Adjunct Marker and Moderator for Open Polytechnic Business Marketing and Ethics courses.
Stewart brings a wealth of experience and energy to the team at a time when we look forward to developing new programmes and re-enter the international education market.
Margaret Fowler
Director
Margaret Fowler es la maestra principal en TII. Ella ha estado involucrada en la industria de ESOL por 29 años en ambos roles de enseñanza y gerencia.
Enseña inglés general en TII y también dirige el programa académico en la sucursal de Christchurch. Disfruta de la interacción con estudiantes de diversas nacionalidades y le gusta especialmente enseñar a nivel principiante. Pasa gran parte de su tiempo libre con su familia y también le gusta ir a cafés y al cine.
Eleni Lafulafu
Administration and Student Services Assistant Manager
Eleni worked for a large organisation in Samoa as an Administrator for 10 years before migrating to Christchurch in 2015. Initially, Eleni worked for Hellers Meat Processing in Quality Control and for her husbands Arboriculture business. In early 2022, Eleni joined TII as the Administration and Student Services Assistant Manager.
When not at work, Eleni is active within the Samoan Church and looking after her family.
Mark Elderton
ESOL Teacher
Mark has been teaching English language for more than twenty years. In that time he has worked in a number of language schools teaching all levels of English, from beginner to IELTS.
Most recently Mark has taught at Lincoln University where he worked for 12 years teaching students from Foundations Studies level to those who wanted to study Masters, Honours or Ph.D courses.
He taught research skills at all levels, as well as general English skills during this period of time. He was involved in designing and developing Foundation Studies courses and the English curriculum as well as writing Research programmes and a writing programme for students.
Mark's interests include a passion for writing literature of all forms and he also has an interest in a wide variety of sports. He has played competitive tennis for many years and finds that it is a good way to exercise and keep fit.
Carolyn Elliott
Administration and Industry Training Coordinator
Carolyn has held several administration, supervisory and management roles within the industry. Her experience covers setting up and managing a driving school, supervising a city wide security contract, working for IRD and the Department of Corrections, and as an instructor for St Johns, supporting regional first-aid training. Carolyn brings rich industry and training experience to her new role at TII. holding driving endorsements in classes I and O
